Job Description

Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Calabasas, California. In this Contract-to-permanent position, you will play a key role in supporting HR operations, including employee onboarding, terminations, and compliance-related verifications. Responsibilities: - Oversee the employee termination process, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards. - Conduct exit interviews and compile feedback for internal review. - Handle final paychecks, benefits cancellations, and retrieval of company assets. - Update HR databases with termination details and prepare required documentation, such as separation notices. - Manage and track pre-employment verifications, including criminal record reviews and employment history checks. - Follow up on pending verification results and maintain accurate records in compliance with privacy regulations. - Organize and conduct onboarding sessions, introducing new hires to company policies, culture, and procedures. - Prepare and distribute onboarding materials, such as employment contracts, tax forms, and employee handbooks. - Use HR management systems like ADP Workforce Now and Ceridian to support HR functions. - Provide exceptional customer service to employees, addressing HR-related inquiries promptly. Requirements - At least 1 year of experience in a Human Resources or related role. - Proficiency with HR systems, including ADP Workforce Now, Ceridian, and other HRMS platforms. - Strong knowledge of processes related to employment and record verifications. - Experience managing onboarding and termination procedures in compliance with legal and company policies. - Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and accuracy. - Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and customer service abilities. - Familiarity with auditing and benefit functions is a plus.
